Awareness Groups is a general rather than a particular term used here to describe spontaneous, informal and casually linked get-togethers of friends exploring Presence Awareness and the teachings of what could be called, non-dual spirituality.
Such gatherings can also sometimes be referred to as Silent Groups (because participants enjoy periods of silent meitation) or Dialogue Groups (because a participant may talk with other participants or sometimes with a teacher who is present).
Most awareness groups, however, could be described as DVD Satsangs, (because participants watch and/or listen to recorded talks given by spiritual teachers such as Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti or Gangaji). In the list below, if a group focuses on a particular teacher, this is indicated.
These gatherings are not convened by cultists, but by those who have a deep interest in understanding, embodying and sharing the truth about who we really are. Each group is loosely organised and conducted on the basis of mutal love, care and respect for all participants as unique expressions of the One.
This seemingly endless stream of ignorance can be crossed over only by the constant company of the enlightened ones. From such company there arises wisdom concerning what is worth seeking and what is to be avoided.
